This intensive one-and-a-half-day program with nationally recognized DNA experts is designed to provide a basic familiarity with DNA, technology, analysis, interpretation and their use in the practice of law for attorneys and Judges who have limited experience with DNA.
The first day will cover the fundamentals of DNA testing (including biological basics, testing procedures, and how to read a lab file) and basic statistics (focusing on the various methods used to estimate the significance of a DNA “match” and the use of Probabilistic Genotyping Software). The second day will focus on issues in DNA analysis (transfer and contamination) and litigating DNA cases (including an overview of past and present DNA challenges and trial strategies).
The DNA Boot Camp will be held at the Embassy Suites Downtown Orlando, located at 191 East Pine Street, Orlando, Florida 32801, on February 24th and 25th, 2017.
