New Research Finds that Fingerprints Can Migrate on Non-Porous Surfaces
New research from the University of Abertay Dundee has found that crime scene fingerprints can migrate after being deposited. The study, titled Migration of Latent Fingermarks on Non-porous Surfaces: Observation Technique and Nanoscale Variations, found that fingerprints can move across non-porous surfaces, which may also affect the clarity of the print itself.
